What does a Grand Massif lift pass cost in 2026-27?

The lift company, Grand Massif Domaines Skiables, publishes one price grid for the 2026-27 winter. The full Grand Massif pass covers all five resorts (Flaine, Les Carroz, Morillon, Samoëns and Sixt) and costs €63 a day for an adult aged 15 to 74 and €50.40 for a child aged 8 to 14. A four-hour pass, which starts at your first gate, costs €56.70 and €45.40.

From two days upwards the daily rate stays the same, so six days for an adult cost €378 at full price; the online grid lists 2 to 7 days and the printed tariff up to 14. Every pass sits on a skicard that costs €2, is reloadable and is not refunded.

  • Adult day pass, whole Grand Massif: €63 (15-74), €50.40 child 8-14, winter 2026-27
  • Villages pass (no Flaine): €58.50 adult, €46.80 child per day
  • Under 8 and 75+: free by the day at a ticket office; €29 stay pass for 2-7 days
  • Early Booking: up to 30% off 6+ days, on sale until 30 October 2026 at midnight
  • Samoëns season: 12 December 2026 to 11 April 2027

Grand Massif or Villages: which pass do you need?

The Villages pass covers Les Carroz, Morillon, Samoëns and Sixt but not Flaine, and costs, in 2026-27, €58.50 a day for an adult and €46.80 for a child. For a family of two adults and one child aged 8 to 14, six days on the Villages pass instead of the full pass saves €75.60 (€27 per adult and €21.60 for the child).

The choice depends on Flaine. Groups based in Samoëns often spend the week between Samoëns 1600, Morillon and Les Carroz, which the Villages pass covers; if Flaine days are on the wish list, the full pass beats a separate Flaine day at €60.70 (2026-27 price).

Do young children and over-75s ski free?

By the day, yes. Skiers under 8 and aged 75 or over get a free day pass, but only at a ticket office and on proof of age; free passes are issued for the current day. To avoid a daily trip to the ticket office, the lift company sells a Mini stay pass for winter 2026-27 at €29 that covers a whole stay of 2 to 7 days, online or at the ticket office.

The Samoëns tourist office describes the same rule. Bring an identity document for each child when you collect the passes.

Good to know: for winter 2026-27, book the €29 Mini stay pass with the rest of the family online and collect every skicard at a self-service terminal; it saves queueing on the first morning.

How does Early Booking work, and when does it end?

Early Booking takes up to 30% off a Grand Massif pass of six consecutive days or more, valid on any dates of the 2026-27 winter. It went on sale on Thursday 8 October at 1pm and closes on Friday 30 October at midnight. The discount depends on remaining stock and on whether your dates fall in the French school holidays, the busiest weeks on the slopes.

An optional Avantage Sérénité cover costs €9 per pass in 2026-27 and lets you cancel until midnight on the day before your first ski day, without giving a reason, and get the pass refunded.

A worked example for a family week

Take two adults, a child of 10 and a child of 6 skiing six days on the full Grand Massif pass at the public 2026-27 price, before any Early Booking discount. The total comes to €1,095.40, skicards included. Accommodation, lessons, equipment hire and insurance are not included.

Season passes, beginners and non-skiers

Families coming for several weeks can look at the winter season pass: €732 for an adult aged 26 to 74 and €488 for ages 8 to 25 at the Promo rate until 15 November 2026, then €1,316 and €878. Children under 8 and over-75s pay €59.

Beginners do not need the full pass on their first days. Each resort sells its own beginner pass; for a day in 2026-27 it costs €33.80 in Samoëns, €24.80 in Morillon and €16.10 in Sixt for an adult. Non-skiers who only want the gondolas can buy the Giffre pedestrian return (Morillon, Grand Massif Express or Vercland) at €11 for an adult and €9 for a child.

Quick answers

When do the lifts open in Samoëns for 2026-27? The lift company lists Samoëns and Les Carroz from 12 December 2026 to 11 April 2027, Flaine from 5 December, Morillon and Sixt from 19 December.

Is a six-day pass cheaper per day than a single day? Not at the public price: the 2026-27 grid keeps €63 a day for an adult. The saving comes from Early Booking, up to 30% on six days or more until 30 October.

Is the skicard charged? Yes, €2 per card in 2026-27. It is reloadable for your next trip and is not refunded.

Which Samoëns ski pass? Start with the lesson area

The right pass depends on where you will ski, not on how many bedrooms your chalet has. For a first week, start with the lesson booking and the intended practice area. Grand Massif publishes different local beginner products alongside the wider passes.

Beginner areas around Samoëns: Samoëns 1600, Morillon 1100 and Sixt compared

First-time skiers do not need the whole Grand Massif. What matters is a gentle, quiet slope, an easy way to get there and somewhere warm nearby. Around Samoëns, three areas are commonly used for lessons and first days: the Plateau des Saix at Samoëns 1600, Les Esserts above Morillon and the beginner sector at Sixt. Here is how they compare.

Skiing from Samoëns village: Grand Massif Express and Samoëns 1600

For winter 2026-27 the lift company lists Samoëns as open from 12 December to 11 April; in holiday weeks, start from Vercland or before 9am to avoid the queue.
